Recently, I have seen many people troubled by the issue of image hosting. Thinking back to the time when I also encountered many pitfalls regarding this issue, I would like to share some of my experiences with everyone, hoping to provide some reference when choosing a relevant image hosting service.
backblaze#
Also known as b2, the first 10GB of storage is free. The storage area can be selected in the US East, US West, or European regions. It is distributed through Cloudflare, with average speed.
It is recommended to store some small images and illustrations on b2, and also backup images on b2.
cloudinary#
This is a storage platform that I have been using personally, which seems to dominate the market (at least that's what Wappalyzer says). Their pricing is based on points, where one point equals 1GB of storage or 1GB of bandwidth or 1000 transformations (we'll explain this later).
The default points are 25, but more points can be obtained through tasks.
My personal suggestion is to store very large images and images that affect functionality here (such as cover images, album images). Their CDN speed in China is also very good, and you can also use Cloudinary's AI technology for image compression and format conversion, making the loading speed of the images faster. So, the purpose of transformation is for this use.
